Chocolate Pie


Chocolate Pie
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
dash of salt
3/4 cups sugar
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 egg yolks (save the whites)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups milk
1 baked pie crust

Preheat oven to 450 and cook crust.

In medium sauce pan on medium heat, mix together all ingredients, except the milk, gradually pour in the milk 1/2 cup at a time, and cook on medium heat; stir until smooth and thicken.

Pour into cooked pie crust.

Mix 4 egg whites and 1/4 cup sugar and beat until fluffy. Top the pie and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until lightly toasted top.

This pie is delicious. My mom use to make it all the time, and come to find out my mother-in-law Diane uses the same recipe. Its a keeper and you'll impress your guest.
