Do you have kids taking finals? Then pack them up a goodie box and send it to them. They always need a little something to munch on while studying.
If you don't have kids, then eat it yourself, or give it as a food gift.
I put in my Christmas trail mix, millionaires, peanut butter and cheese crackers, gold fish, pen, pencil, high lighter, and of course a little note.
Christmas Trail Mix
1 can mixed nuts
1 cup pretzels
1 cup raisins
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 package of crunch chocolate Christmas candy, taken out of the wrapper.
Mix all together in a big mixing bowl; stirring gently.
Fill your Zip Lock bag, and mail off to the kiddo's.
Robin's Millionaires
14 ounce caramels, unwrapped
2 cups pecans
1 cup walnuts
2 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon butter
5 blocks chocolate candy coating
3 blocks vanilla candy coating
Melt caramel with 2 tablespoon water, and 1 tablespoon butter, in double boiler; stirring often. Chop pecans and walnuts set aside.
Stir pecans in with melted caramel. On a greased wax paper, dip out a spoonful of caramel mixture, spreading out over your cookie sheet. Put in refrigerator for 30 to 45 minutes, so they will harden.
In the mean time, melt your chocolate. I use chocolate candy coating and melt it in the microwave, for about 2 minutes (3 blocks). Makes it so easy. I dip some in vanilla and some in chocolate.
I like to use a spoon to cover them in chocolate or vanilla, just makes it easier.
Get a clean piece of wax paper and spray it with your cooking spray (to keep them from sticking); let them harden for about 15 minutes. These are so yummy and great little gifts.
Come back tomorrow for some more Christmas goodies.
Be Sweet and Stay Sweet!
