Stuffed Blue Cheese Steak with Mushroom Sauce

Need a Valentine's meal to knock your honey's socks off? Well....here you go. They will think they went to a 4 star restaurant. Be sure to decorate your table and make it romantic.

Stuffed Blue Cheese Steak
2  steaks
2 tablespoons blue cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
salt and black pepper
2 strips bacon

I used 2 filet steaks. Insert knife to one side of your steak; making about a 1" pocket. Stuff 1 tablespoon of crumbled blue cheese in each steak.

Wrap bacon around and insert toothpick to hold it. Salt and pepper each side.  Heat oil is small skillet to medium heat. Brown each side of your steak, turning only once.

Heat your oven to 350 degrees and cook for 15 minutes for medium rare steak.

Mushroom Sauce
1 1/2 cups half and half
2 cups mushrooms
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon flour

Heat oil in sauce pan; then add onions and mushroom, until soft.

Add the rest of your ingredient; except flour, and stir. Add 1 tablespoon of flour; mixing together to thicken it. Serve over steak.

These turned out great. Steve told me the best steak I've ever cooked and wants another one.

I served it with my vegetable melody, which I'll give you tomorrow.
