New Orleans Style Week - Grocery List

I just got back from a visit with Natalie in Nola, so we’re going Cajun. Get ready for some scrumptious eats. Plus, I’ll have picture day, of some great places we went to.

Cajun Pasta
1 package fettuccine noodles
4 cups heavy whipping cream
1 pound shrimp peeled, deveined and precooked
2 chicken breasts cut in bite-size pieces
1 package of 4 Andouille sausage links cut in bite-size pieces
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 small yellow onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
4 tablespoon olive oil
14.5-ounce diced tomatoes
½ cup chicken broth
1 package sliced mushrooms
3 tablespoon fresh thyme
3 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

Crawfish Ettoffee
1 stick butter
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 celery sticks, chopped
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
1-14.5 ounce chicken broth
1 pound frozen crawfish
1 cup rice, cooked as directed

Béchamel Sauce
2 sticks butter, melted
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper


Red Beans and Rice
1 pound dry red beans, soaked
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
3 sticks celery, chopped
2 tablespoon minced garlic
14 ounce Andouille sausage
1 1/2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning, I used Punch Ya Daddy's
1 teaspoon Louisiana Hot Sauce
4 strips of smoked bacon fried and reserve your bacon grease
2 teaspoon thyme
1 1/2 tablespoons kosher salt
2 tablespoons black pepper
4 bay leaves
2 cups cooked rice
3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Robin's Gumbo
2 chicken breasts
4 chicken thighs
16 ounces Cajun sausage
1 pound ham
2 cups rice
1 onion, chopped
1 cup okra, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 sticks celery, chopped
1-14.5 ounces stewed tomatoes
2 cups chicken stock (from boiling your chicken)
1 1/2 sticks butter
2 tablespoons garlic
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
4 bay leaves
1 tablespoon Creole seasoning
3/4 cup bacon grease or oil
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon Louisiana Hot Sauce

I haven’t made these yet, so I might be adding something to it.
